Ernest Adolphe Côté was a Lt. Colonel in the Third Canadian Infantry Division. He was responsible for the logistics and provision of the supplies for 15,000 men. He was one of the few officers who were informed of the date and location of the D-Day invasion.

James Doohan landed at Juno Beach. He shot two snipers and led his men to higher ground. That night, he was shot six times by friendly fire. One shot blew off his right middle finger, another was stopped by a cigarette case in his pocket.

Jan de Vries was a paratrooper who parachuted into Normandy on D-Day but landed several kilometres from his intended target. He spent the night going back to the coast, while dodging enemy patrols. He later parachuted across the Rhine River and was wounded in July 1944.

Ruth Muggeridge was a nurse who served at a base hospital that was as a casualty clearing station. Over the course of one night, she dealt with hundreds of wounded soldiers who had landed at Juno Beach and had suffered bullet wounds, burns and other serious injuries.

HMCS Prince David carried 418 troops including elements of Le Régiment de la Chaudière. Over the course of the day, all but one of her landing craft were crippled, sunk, or beached high and dry. She later carried wounded back to Southampton.

HMCS Prince Henry was the senior officer's ship of Force J1, which was made up of 22 merchant vessels heading into Juno Beach. She was tasked with landing troops at Mike Red. Later, she took 57 wounded and survivors from ships that sank back to England.
