Because r’ defense forces r’ devoluted doesn’t mean Europe as a whole isn’t a force to be reckoned with. The opposite. Its defense capabilities r’ arguably stronger in this context, & can function independently as well as a whole. It pains me to say it, it we also have a credible nuclear deterrent.
