Conquered the beasties. Also fertilized and sprayed them (black spot is year-long here). Gonna push the cleanup til tomorrow.

I saw a lot of lizards, some ladybugs and earthworms, and a little snake today! 🌱

Tbh this is as far as I got in the clean up yesterday. 😆 🌹 I want it to dry out (and my hands/arms to heal) before I wrestle all this into garden debris bags. But at least it's off the grass. 🌱

I understand. I spent Saturday and Sunday cleaning the memorial garden. I was surprised to see some bulbs breaking though the ground. It’s almost spring!

It is that time of year, even in the south. I have mostly containers, but it's taken 2 full weekends to weed out and put in new soil. We moved a firebush to a new larger pot last night. It fought us all the way.

Epsom salt helps tremendously with black spot. Top dress the soil around the base of the base with half a cup of espom salt and work in to the soil. It works amazingly well. 💚🌱

I have heard epsom salt can be helpful but I didn't know it was good for black spot! I'm gonna check this out, thanks for the tip!

YW! Works wonders. Greens them up. Promotes new growth. Helps with nutrient uptake. Won't hurt anything except slugs and we don't want them anyway! Can be applied to soil every few weeks to a month. Never apply directly to branches or leaves. I've had tremendous results over many years.

Early spring is best time to start. Promotes new growth. Greens them up. Helps uptake of other nutrients. Sulfur and magnesium do wonders for roses especially those afflicted with black spot. Yes, do some research. I've had great results over many years even on ones I thought were goners.

I need to prune the roses at my church. I wear leather gloves up to my elbows and still manage to get ripped up.
