I love the tag BBQ being included for this story, implying that UJ is planning for there to be more BBQ stories in the future, but also the fact that clicking on the BBQ tag gives you results such as this (and led to me being disappointed when I found out there was no BBQ involved)

The remark about X comments leaning right-wing/anti-foreigner is odd to me, when they seem to side with a "keeping the peace" sort of take. I actually expected them to be the ones suggesting to continue barbequing and causing problems.

These kinds of things really are just a lack of communication. I do wonder just how bad a formal complaint is though - it comes across as extreme, but it's probably just a way to avoid confrontation. There are worse ways to learn you did a faux pas.

hmmmm, that could be the case. i was raised to avoid having to interact with cops as much as possible, so i guess that's where i'm coming from. if i had cops at my door and it turned out it was just my neighbor being bothered by the smoke, id be like, damn, i wouldve stopped had u told me urself lol
