🙄 This is something Gmail does completely seamlessly. 100% of the large volume of spam I get goes silently to the spam bin. Very occasionally a real email gets put there. Mark it as not spam, and that sender won’t be binned again. You’d think an academic institution could match this.

Whenever I'm under contract at a university, almost all the email is spam. So much that it's unusable and the only way of operating is waiting until someone panics and tries to phone me or send an email to my personal address, surfacing something I actually need to do.

But you're playing with fire here, Steven. If you train the filter to think the emails about spam are spam, it's going to send you an email about that, which will result in a feedback loop that might, I dunno, destroy the universe? Divide by zero? Fill up your mailbox quota?
