I know it's a rhetorical question, but it's an important point.
The idea that government should be run like a business came from Republicans who want to do what's happening right now: taking it over, slashing "costs" to reap the "profits."
This is part of the problem with why education has gotten so bad.Stakeholders want to see “data” in straightforward spreadsheets & charts.But there are too many extraneous variables that come into play. Student sick/didn’t get enough sleep/hungry/in a bad mood, etc. the day of a high stakes test?
