If the constitution says tariffs have to be approved by Congress, why do we have to sue the government to enforce what the constitution says. Seems crazy to me.
Back in the 80s, Congress passed a law giving the President the power to enact tariffs in "emergencies".
Of course, there isn't any emergency, but Congress is dominated by MAGA chuds who will not make any move to prevent him from abusing these powers. Ergo, the courts are the only option.
I still wonder what they will call the homeless villages that will be popping up - I’m thinking Trump towns. By the end of this the Trump name which used to be synonymous with tasteless garishness, will evenrtually be synonymous with poverty and I don’t think he could get a punishment worse.
The sad thing is jD, his wife and other probably passed a constitutional law class but approve of policies clearly violating the constitution. The whole GOP stands for Project 2025 even though the first 100 days have been a train wreck. #trash=trump+crash
Hoover made fatal errors as President. But he was a decent person, not a crook or a sadist, who had done good humanitarian work running feeding programs in Europe after WWI. There's just no comparison with the current incumbent.
