This was a long war, requiring extensive use of mid-air refueling. So much so, that it was likely the U.S. (at a minimum) was deeply involved from the beginning.

The most likely (albeit not 100% certain) staging area for these operations seems to be over Saudi Arabia.

If the Saudis are were the critical enabler that I think they were, then in some sense this war should be thought of as a Saudi war against Iran, using Israel and the U.S. to do their dirty work.

As a hypothesis, it explains a lot, including the early war termination, participation of Trump, etc.

Netanyahu, by all appearances, took a huge risk in attacking Iran alone.

Trump's base was against it, Trump appeared to be against it. There was no way to be certain of Natanz, or even get into Fordow without Trump, and yet Netanyahu attacked anyways.

Of course, the Saudis, more so than even Putin, have proven repeatedly their ability to move Trump around like a chess piece. Maybe that is where Netanyahu's confidence came from?

There are many mysteries with this war. As I stated earlier, midair refueling was critical, the Israelis did not have enough, and yet it happened from day 1.

Did the Americans really help with that? Extra assets weren't sent until the 17th. It is possible the Saudis helped with that also.
