The reality? A lot of legal work is regular and repetitive. It's about doing the same thing over and over again and getting so good at it that you have much better than 50% chances of winning.

That kind of work lends itself much more naturally to "boring" AI applications - mapping a process, building an optimisation loop, getting to high reliability,

then handing off the work to the automation and freeing lawyers to focus on what they do best: grapple with challenging outliers, mediate the law to non-lawyers, represent, negotiate, ... and come up with new creative ideas for processes that can be optimised and automated.
