steam has a linux version that can literally run any program under the sun. Blender is able to run on linux like this. I know it works for arch, but i dont know for any other distro. thought this might help, though!

I can vouch for Mint, it flawlessly runs literally every steam game I've thrown at it so far.

The notable exception is Warframe, which *runs* like greased lightning, but takes aaaaages to get going because of how it works graphically. I have 30-45 minute startup times for it.

Depending on the machine you may need to enable “high performance” power management in the BIOS. Other than that it should be relatively straightforward

decided to go with bazzite since it's been a long time since i've used a Just Works™️ distro and it's been working out very well!!! there's a custom build for asus laptops that i went with and i'm very happy with it, i get a fast boot time and everything feels smooth! excited to relearn a lot!!!

for some context, i used to run arch when i was 13-15 and i loved it! unfortunately the things i wanted to do with my computer were windows exclusive, and still are to a degree. but now with my hardware i feel like i can switch back without losing anything, especially if vfio works!
