The Elden Ring bosses do deserve to approach me all cocky. Let's not talk about how many times Radahn and Placidsack whatever slammed body slammed me before I figured out how to claw my way to the upper hand
I do remember in one of the Ace Combat games, in the final mission, you could hear enemy radio chatter.
"Those wing markings...it's HIM!"
"Stay in formation! He's just one man!"
I felt ten feet tall.
now i want a boss thats like really stupid strong for no reason, but is extremely intimidated like hes the size of a building but runs to the edges of the arena from you, and is constantly like "s-stay away! Y-you monster!!" but then when he takes a weak little swing you just die
Ah but those 15k men were weaklings, they can't possibly compare to the power of the boss. Clearly the boss is just built different. What does the boss have to worry about some (likely) teenagers trying to save the world with their magical powers nobody else has?
"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
That's cool, Oz. I have a greatclub and i put all my points into swinging it.
My favorite is when you've literally already killed the boss, but their dialog is hard scripted into the fight, so they remain alive at 0hp long enough to tell you that you can never defeat them, before immediately dying.
The one I don't get is when you've slaughtered your way through entire civilisations of people, then it gives you a cutscene with a moral dilemma over killing someone lol.
You likely died to a couple guys on the way. That means that there's infinite universes where you didn't beat them and only one where you actually deal the final blow
But you have to understand what the boss has done as well to achieve that position of power. In whatever game universe, they may have been the only one to succeed and no one else. That is until you, the MC, arrived. Maybe in that game universe, you are traversing the same path that boss took before
this is incorrect. the only way to win is to shoot 500 poison arrows at them and let poison procs kill them while I run away behind some level geometry they can't maneuver around very easily
I've been playing the Trails series. What I noticed is that it doesn't matter that you beat them because they weren't even serious and/or their plans are already underway so your win doesn't even matter.
I reappear when you kill me. Unscathed. Exactly the same. I can heal myself. I can improve.
My death is a temporary inconvenience. Your death will be final

The further in the dlc the more worried he becomes "did you just kill all the men i sent? Holy shit"

He's exploded at least 20 times, been abandoned in the vacuum of space multiple times, got sucked into a black hole, HE SHOULD BE DEAD
