So four cheap skates could spam hydrocity and it's just a constant blight that never ends, allowing them to attack under the constant explosions.

Hyrdocity? well technically i think yes, the power of the special would be lower so although it would be annoying it wouldn't stall the game to hell

(pt2/2) lets say we make it so you can get 180 CRange, BUT the kraken you get, has more knockback, is slower, and has a smaller hurt box. Or alternatively you could use gear sync witch would FORCE all applicable ability's onto the special but remove them from your normal arsenal, like swim speed.

I like it, but could overcomplicate things if not implemented well.
Maybe something like styles like aeceus could work, but applied to a weapon kit as a whole? Like a speed style elitre with less range.

This would only really work if the specials were really well designed, like if they were on the level of design as crab or jet. But it would have to be balence carefully so we don't get a S2 meta of spam.
