I only use butter for my eggs, just drop the temp so the butter doesn’t go brown — I thrown my eggs in the pan, as soon as the butter stops bubbling and making noise.
ABSOLUTELY. And if you have bacon fat, that's even better. I like to cook bacon by the pound on a foil-covered pan in the oven, and then I filter the grease and save it in a little container in my fridge, just for fried eggs.
Have to second the bacon fat. Also wonderful for corn tortillas or sautéing mushrooms, onions, and garlic together. 😋
Pro Tip: Bake your bacon on a rack in a deep cookie sheet. Then you can just place the rack to the side to cool and pour the bacon fat in sturdy glass jar with a lid to use later.

I like EVOO, but will throw some butter with it sometimes.
