One of the most unique talents Hollywood ever produced. By his own reckoning 'a working actor's working actor'. He shunned the glamour and the bullshit throughout, and brought a tough realism to his characters not shared by many. Eureka is my favourite work of his, Unforgiven and Enemy of the State
Absolutely love Gene Hackman. He made me feel so much as I watched him. His voice has something special. I canβt explain it. He was so sexy on screen.ππ«R. I. P. Forever in my π
Whenever I hear βsupervillainβ I think of Gene as Lex. He kept the character human. His character had depth, humor, and was relatable. Other villains are other-worldly. But Gene kept his character as human as possible. He will be missed by many π
You may have known him personally or not but he's been around all my movie going life. And I saw him in the theater lol
I am grateful for his talent and charm
Lex Luthor, brought to life by Gene Hackman, ignited my childhood imagination. He was more than an actor; he was a master storyteller. Those early memories, and his subsequent performances, have left an indelible mark. Thank you, Mr. Hackman, for the magic.
Mario Puzo (who co-wrote Superman, wrote Lex Luthor's dialogue for Gene Hackman) tells a story in the commentary track.
He was approached years later from behind by Gene who said "It's amazing that brain can generate enough power to keep that pen moving!". A reference to Gene's line from the movie.

My favorite is βThe Chamberβ
Originally a book by John Grisham
He would have laughed at this shit. Hackman was his name, and his nature. And he won it all....
