As fas as i know, the arrested student Mahmoud Khalil was NOT pro Hamas - as March Rubio keeps claiming- but was peacefully protesting the bombing of Gazas civilians

My views on the Hamas/Israel war aren't the same as Mr Khalil, but I 100% support his right to express his feelings on the conflict. Free speech, even to the point of vocally "Supporting Hamas" (not saying that he was) is protected under the first amendment,& I defend his right to exercise it.
Anyone who is supportive of the Palestinians in Gaza are going to labeled as pro-Hamas. Just like those who do not like Netanyahu are labeled antisemitic.
Democrats know you are lying about voter fraud because Anti-Fascist Countries went to war from 1942 to 1945 to defeat the evil dictator Adolf Hilter that refused to accept the results of an election to overturn the election by inciting violence. https://youtu.be/bHJC0nmA_lI?si=56hiQrVlRaOi8kp
They have no evidence that he WAS, so he should, and hopefully will, be released. Even with the Enemy Alien and Sedition Act, they have to prove, in a court of law, that he was working to "influence or overthrow of the Government of the United States," in the service of a "foreign power." He wasn't.
Frankly, there is more of an actionable case to be made that Trump and this entire Administration violate the Enemy Alien and Sedition Act every day as a matter of "policy" than anything they can try to hang on Mr. Khalil.
None of the people they’re going after are “pro Hamas”. The scumbag liars are using that and FAKE antisemitism accusations to harm people who are Arab and probably everybody else when they’re done with them.
Hamas uses civilians as a tool of war; approx 40K Hamas fighters dressed in civilian clothes intentionally insert themselves with civilians, fire missiles from inside apartment buildings, schools, taunt the IDF on the ground with civilians, then scurry down a tunnel shaft before the IDF acts.
I think this is really about trying to get SCOTUS to rule that the Bill of Rights applies only to citizens, as opposed to persons. They want to challenge SCOTUS precedent on this issue.
Of course he was. The admin will use this as a distraction technique and to appease some. It’s a catalyst to stoke anger in the hopes of a violent protest outbreak so they can use that as an excuse for martial law and mass deportations. Mark my words, this is intentional for different reasons.
What did I say above? It's almost like many of us are paying attention. Don't bite people. No violent protests! Don't give these f*ckers the opportunity.
He's testing the waters. He got away with it with those on student visas, now he's trying it with green card holders, if he gets away with this it will be citizens next.
Criminal charges are not necessary for deportation. Deportation is a civil matter, so the standard of proof is clear and convincing, not beyond reasonable doubt.
He was materially supporting Hamas by distributing materials authored by Hamas. That's a deportable offense.
“If a green card holder is accused of a crime, their criminal case will go through the justice system. But the process to revoke their permanent status takes place in immigration court, where officials must present evidence to justify revoking a green card.”
Yes, exactly as I said. Criminal charges are not necessary. There will be a civil trial where the government must prove clearly and convincingly that Khalil was materially supporting terrorist organizations.
That’s why this is so difficult.
Pro Palestine doesn’t mean Pro Hamas to me. Can there be a distinction? Or am I naive?
Just like being against Zionism doesn’t make me anti semitic.
They are trying to stick the "terrorist" label on I'm. They did the same thing to the guy who shot the UHC CEO. If you go against corporate America, you are now a terrorist.
And, as far as I know, he has NOT BEEN CHARGED WITH ANY CRIME. Depriving any person of their freedom without any charge violates EVERY LETTER of the federal Constitution. It must be stopped and sanctioned.
He was the lead negotiator for Columbia University Apartheid Invest, which according to the NYT, is "pro-Hamas." So he was likely pro-Hamas, unless he didn't agree with the organization that he represented.
He has free speech and is here legally. The government cannot disappear people. If doing this is designed to scare people I hope it's not working. I am so angry about the whole mess!
And probably that their power has been shut off and that they are trying to starve innocent people. I'm sure they also saw that disgusting video of trump Gaza
So long as we feed him three decent meals a day until we pay him an outrageous amount for illegally detaining him.
(We have to do something with all the money we're saving by not honoring our commitments and not paying those laid off 'inefficient' DEI government employees.)
Khalil has now been put on the enemies list with the fake news, the lunatic left, the Trans and Pro choice and the other people Trump uses to point violence at anybody who doesn't start marching to his tune. And we can howl into the wind that Trump is lying but only SCOTUS is left to possibly help.
Yes, Hamas is a terrorist group. Most Palestinians are peaceful citizens that are not interested in aggression against others. It is like the KKK in America. All Americans are not KKK members but some Americans are members of the KKK. KKK is a white supremacist terrorist group
If nothing else, give him a fair trial and find out. Or, you can acquiesce in your new role as the subjects of an authoritarian state and live in fear of who’s next 🤷🏻♂️
And having "views" is never "illegal" under the constitution. One's beliefs are protected. You can believe murder is "ok". As long as you don't act on it, and actually commit a crime. And like you said, even suspected murderers are entitled to due process and transparency in arrest/custody.
Anyone who criticises Israel or shows any humanity towards Palestinians is smeared as Hamas or antisemitic. Its the go-to smear to silence and intimidate. Now Trump has weaponised the smear and no evidence is required. Its the new Mcarthyism
The thugs in charge get to tell us what free speech is-/and this after years and years of bitching about pronouns and not being able to grope secretaries.
What a sad joke—the first amendment refers specifically to government action, and they’re acting to infringe it.
This lie they tell infuriates me to no end as any normal person should be against the genocide of innocent people anywhere on the planet and has never, not once been about support of Hamas.
Hamas is a symptom of a disease which is the cruel and unjust people of Palestine. Much like the IRA, you treat people like animals long enough they will do anything to survive.
It seems that anyone peacefully protesting against the bombing of Gaza's civillians is either branded as pro-Hamas or anti-Semitic. All most people want is to make their voices heard and for the killing to stop. Or is that a bit "woke", these days? 😡
They say whatever sells their perspective; their point of view.
I fear their understanding of the word truth needs a little work.
Actually, a lot of work.

That famous poem is not very long.
They have to follow the rule of law. Charge him with something. Prove the charges in court while he is given the opportunity to defend himself.
You can’t just arrest him and deport him.

Fire him.

Serious question
It is possible to hate Hamas and not hate the Palestinian people.
It is possible to hate Trump and not hate the American people.
We are not, as a society, allowed to disappear people at gunpoint without charges.
No matter what their views are .
Also-
This is just a test run to see how easy we will accept it.
OMG.
Is that actually Mia Farrow?
I assumed it was a fan where a parody account or something.
I apologize for my language!
Good god this place is really the Wild West…
