Problem is Vlad has no reason to sign an extension after watching the Soto bidding war and knowing the Yankees have "signaled their intent". Any trade would be a rental with the HOPE of resigning.

I would hope the Mets wouldn’t make the deal unless he agreed to a long term deal.
Although he isn’t a Boras client… maybe he’d like the big money without the wait/drama. Prob too much to hope for…
