Nah, K-syndrome is *similar*, but it's not caused by misfolded proteins in the brain.

From memory Thaumaturgic Spongiform Encephalitis (or is Demeningitis better?) is caused by microscopic demons nibbling on the neurones, in which case one wonders if it'd be possible to produce a vaccine using nanoscale pentagrams and very targeted summoning. I don't know how adding *more* demons is going to help matters. What do you feed *them*?

PHANGs have the "have them eat something I'm not using" perfected, but... ethics. 😔

Clearing out the debris and regrowing neurons would be ideal, if you don't mind memory loss.

Best just keep a phone handy?

Yep. A way to go yet, though, and there are a lot of treatments that have worked on mice but failed for humans

Still, chances are if it fails for mice, it would also fail for humans
