This one blocks MAGA chuds. Also catches some joke (or “joke”) accounts but frankly I don’t wanna see those either.

If you prefer not to subscribe to an entire list, you can also just use it as a manual blocklist and pick and choose for yourself.

Yes, the list can be blocked. Go into the list then tap “subscribe”, which will bring up a menu to mute or block. Choose block and the whole list will be blocked at once.

Worth mentioning: blocks are nuclear here. Blocking someone will not only prevent them from seeing your posts and you from seeing theirs, it will break any threads interacting with them. QS to dunk and then block the person you dunked on? No one can see the post you quoted anymore. SO GOOD!

Blocks are also public via https://clearsky.app. Put in any username to see who they blocked, & who blocked them. Use this wisely, don’t look at who’s blocked you if that will just stress you out!

You can also see what lists anyone has put you on; if a list is abusive it can be reported to site moderation.

Mutes are private, but don’t stop the muted person from seeing your posts, only you from seeing theirs.

Choose whether to mute or block based on whether you just want to avoid seeing content you dislike, or want to prevent the other person from seeing you.

If you want to counterblock people who have blocked you, clearsky will show you their user handle. You’ll need to search the ENTIRE thing to bring them up when they’ve blocked you.

Users without a block will come up in a partial string search but blocks inhibit that.

It’s culturally discouraged, which is reinforced by the moderation tools, but jerks can show up and break the social norms to be mean nonetheless. So people should know how to use those moderation tools to reinforce the social norm.
