As an aspiration…
Even if you’re only a so-so snorkeler, I can’t recommend French Polynesia highly enough for “encounters”.
Coppers are uncommon there (in my experience), if very “friendly” black tip reef shark are ubiquitous. Culturally, sharks = gods, so their energy is most chill.
