last night, as i lay intently listening to the wind, i could distinctly make out a pulsing frequency that was being emitted. As I gave it my more acute attention, I was positive of it. So, I wonder who would be emitting frequency at such a level? Who would have the "hardware" in place to do it? SL
https://www.ntsb.gov/safety/data/Pages/monthly-dashboard.aspx the NTSB has suprisingly helpful data. january 2025 technically had less fatal incidents than the numbers i can see in the past decade+. it's important to note that before last month, the u.s. hadn't had a commercial airliner disaster with 100% casualties since 2009
also like those private <5 passenger cesna-type planes have fatal incidents all the time that only get reported by local news. the dc crash was pretty clearly human error (fuck the army) but the toronto plane crash seemed like legit environment issues w/ icy runway + strong crosswind.
so it makes sense that things are getting reported more often, but it doesn't look like the numbers are unusual. we probably won't see the effects of the FAA firings for a while
But that’s any incident - at minimum the DCA crash, the Philadelphia crash, and the Toronto crash are all major, which look like they average 1-2 per year.
