In a vacuum the Geno trade and Darnold signing were good moves.
But with context of they opened ~40m in cap space before last week leaving their biggest need as IOL , bountiful in FA and the draft.
Post Lockett release, they traded DK and Geno, so they down graded QB and WR as well to IOL.

Meanwhile the defense was bad. Objectively bad for 2.5. Football is more than what the QB can do, Geno led the league in GWDs and 4QCBs btw.
Superbowls are won by the best teams not the best QBs. We saw that in 2013 and 2014. Two different results. Huh?
I’m willing to let FA play out a bit and then decide.
I’m not trust JS guy btw. He should be fired if hawks have a same or worse year than 2024
Sure it’s frustrating they haven’t added on o line but sounds like Dalman didn’t want to come and not offering a 5 year deal (that *nobody has offered yet this year to anybody)
Darnold was also in a better environment hands down compared to Geno.
Looking at film, Darnold was made right JJ and Addison quite often especially in the deep and short areas of the field.
Darnold is on the right track but he is still far behind Geno
Darnold can match Geno’s highs
Darnold has yet to match Geno’s floor
These are moves that project down so at least he gets his wish of not being “mediocre”
