We didn’t do wolf DNA till she was 10 years old. We did it with the UC Davis wolf project. She was 1/2 wolf.
(Her first dog-standard DNA showed German Shepherd with a tiny bit of husky and the other was unknown, but that was back when they first started doing test)

For legal reasons, I didn’t do it until I knew I could 100% trust her and keep her safe. She had a lethal bite. Some communities have laws against owning wolf hybrids.

She was she was really mistreated the first two years before we got her. Her mouth was wired shut. She hadn’t been inside a house. It took a long time to adjust, but she did great once in a lifetime canine.
