The idea that Drake's songs gets added to radio for free because his music is so popular is not a serious thought. His music is popular, in part, because UMG pays the necessary promotional fees to get him prime airplay.

Fame in 2024's social media era is a product of money spent from 2008-2015.
There's plenty of talented, interesting artists who might be on par with Kendrick, they don't have his platform and don't get the benefit of having come first to what was built for and behind him. So they languish.
As someone in radio I can vouch for this! There are plenty of amazing songs that should get radio play and we love, but they get passed on because we’re busy playing the new thing or the second or third single by (Big Artist) because we want them to like us next time interviews happen.
But I mean I would expect all labels to do that for their artist, overtime they get sucesfully enough that radio and other places start to request said artist new material, but I dont feel thats the same as farming views or streams with bots
Like thats the whole point of getting sign by a label, to get your music out there, now the way drake is complaining is like the music from Dot artificially got numbers boosted by streams or views from bots which is just not true
I’m watching this with piqued interest: 2 lawsuits in response to losing a rap battle badly, and subsequently biting the hand that feeds you with your record label. This should be good 🤣

Personally I find Kendrick much more talented and interesting.
But anybody famous is being promoted. There are millions of Kendricks globally we don't know :(
