Upper Sand Island Rock Art: Located about 0.5 to 1 mile east of the former on a canyon wall fronting the San Juan River. A long series of petroglyph panels with gaps between them, extending about 0.5 mile along the river.

Hello, these are on an active, publicised trail. From our page: “wooden fencing has been installed below some of the panels to discourage graffiti artists and vandalism.”
Much of this rock art spans an unusually long range from Archaic period (6500 BCE to 1500 BCE) through historic Ute (1500 CE to 1880 CE) and Navajo times (late 1600 CE to 1700s CE). 📷 stonetracker More: http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=61898
