It’s not a downy. We have lots of those. It’s about twice as big. They are often on there together which is amusing when a Carolina wren decides to join in.
I used to have Hairy Woodpeckers at my suet feeders when I lived in TN. They looked like a Downey Woodpecker on steroids.
I had Pilested too. They were huge.
The variety of birds there was fantastic.
They all loved my homemade suet.
