And this is also true if you click on the ad and then buy the item months later. It might even be true if you just *see* the ad, but I'm not sure.

Well possibly… if you have navigated to the listing through an ad Etsy takes the cut. If you *see* an ad but navigate to the same listing it doesn’t (although as already mentioned there are other fees)

in order for the seller to be charged for offsite ads, the buyer has to click on an ad and buy any item from that store within 30 days. simply viewing the ad doesn't incur fees, thank god.

(replying from my biz acct now) Yes. Etsy buys ads on Pinterest as well. Which brings up the control issue- Pinterest leads to massive copying of work so I'd have LOVED to opt out of that platform (no diss on you! just highlighting why it's annoying to not have control over ads)
