Right, he didn’t face a real primary. voters assumed he was still competent to speak publicly, so were happy to keep him. But now they know he can’t and want to change candidates.

The only argument that should be made for Biden continuing to be the nominee is that he has the best chance to beat Trump. Swing state polls show he can’t beat Trump, so the decision to switch to Harris is easy.
Again, this isn’t a relevant argument. The only argument that you can for Biden staying the nominee is that he is the strongest candidate to beat Trump. Polls show that isn’t the case. None of his experience translates into voters preferring him to Trump.
I'm not saying we don't question or even second guess our elected officials. But FFS, someone who has won 11 successful Federal elections may understand voters a bit more than randos on social media.
