Actually Italians do it that way at times, it has different names depending on ingredients, a popular one is orecchiette, the trick is add the pasta at end, and add boiling water so it’s not mushy, al dente.

My husband is Italian descent so the one pot pasta is common, easy, and flavorful and avoiding cream/milk. I actually throw in vegetable broth instead of water to boost flavor, along with sautéed garlic/onion, etc

That’s the lazy way to make pasta. The pasta absorbs everything and gets mushy. I like al dente and cook pasta separately from any sauces.

It is like using greasy hamburger without away to drain the grease which is a trend also. Boiling water and cooking the pasta separate is not hard. Pasty pasta is gross.

It's timing. If the other ingredients take longer to cook than the pasta, you get a bad result. I've done other recipes that don't add the pasta until everything else is already cooked through and they do come out al dente. Basically saute everything first.

I look forward to this one in summer when my garden is booming. My current favorite 1-pot pasta is one I came up with for camping. Penne with Italian sausage and... always a fast favorite w/easy clean up.

The Italian sausage gives all necessary seasoning. Saute the penne in the fat it gives off. Then add tinned tomatoes and water and salt if needed. Add Parm and frozen peas at finish. Easy to do on camp stove or open fire.

Haven't been to alot but for nostalgia purposes, Bumblebee (North fork) in Idaho because I honeymooned there so we've visited a bunch of times. Grayland in WA was beautiful for coastal and Cape Disappointment was great as well. Lots of places to visit around Cape Disappointment w/in driving distance

It was amazing I'd only ever been camping once prior and I love the outdoors. Been back like six times in 35 years. Probably not going back again until things calm down over the border. Saw my first ghost pipe fungi and my first stand of chanterelle's there and there's a beautiful swimming hole.

I love camping, I wish I had the opportunity to do it more. I used to sleep in the back of my dad's pickup and "camp" quite often when I was a kid.
