Something that most people donβt talk about with perimenopause is having double periods: repeated full cycles lasting only a couple weeks. I experienced it for about 3 months straight and it was awful.
Love this! The Menopause Manifesto was a huge help to me, especially when trying to convince the young residents in my GPβs clinic that my symptoms werenβt all in my head. So grateful for the increased (and improved) dialogue on menopause.ππ½
Thank you! Do we HAVE to take MHT if weβre fresh into menop but had our last period at 44 (technically early)? My gyno worries about osteoporosis (no medical history), but I have no menop symptoms anymore and am not too keen on taking MHT (my mom had b.cancer young, my fear of MHT is psychological).
I donβt know if she answers your question or not (I am not a doctor) but she does provide the most comprehensive discussion on the topic you will find.
Thank you, youβre so sweet to reply, I do follow her on there and I read the articles, however, βearly menopauseβ seems to be a different beast, and she doesnβt delve into that in her writingsβ¦But a few of us on the very cusp are confused about what to doβ¦
Mgt was a lifesaver for me. I barely slept for 6 months before I was finally prescribed it. My brain felt literally fuzzy and like it was dying until I started taking it
As the person who reads an early draft of everything Jen writes, I will comment to the rest of you that this 13 minute menopause βdocumentaryβ is an exceptional intro to everything Jen has written about menopause and menopause hormone therapy in more detail at https://thevajenda.com.
