The real problem is that the bill does NOT say you can use your marriage certificate.
In that case, you are plumb out of luck.

Called my congressman who voted for the SAVE act.
Me: What documents will I need to vote if this passes?
Staffer: a DL and birth certificate.
Me: The documents don’t match
Staffer: Then a marriage certificate.
Me: Will my husband need the marriage certificate too?
Staffer: No
Me: See the problem?

They did this on purpose.
We *must* defeat this in the Senate.
And, they've got suggestions for how to share with your contacts!
The desire to travel beyond America is not part of their credo.
Will they mind? or will they feel it is a part of their “surrendered wife” persona?
It’s a malicious bill which uses and abuses women in order to skew the vote in favour of republicans.
If the US gov't can disenfranchise a citizen who got married and changed their name, don't change your last name for now.
(It feels a little like the 'birth crisis' all over - if the US gov't wants people to have more babies, make it easier to raise children in the US.)
It’s a bureaucratic nightmare with unnecessary costs taxpayers.
