The fierce slide to authoritarianism in the US alarms my daughter, wife, my friends here and immobilises me. I try to stay focused on the kindness I witness. As I move into my 60’s I realise. Kindness can’t protect us. Humour won’t stop its spread. I stand in solidarity with US friends. Be safe.
