I miss the era of studios experimenting in order to develop technology, mechanics and nurture new talent. We are so far away from those days when Rockstar or Capcom would release games because they are investing in the future even if the titles were average at best.

Krafton is a holding company, so if I were translating this article into reality it would sound like:

"We don't really care about the team, but it sounds like good PR to say so... but in actuality, this studio has some IP we can gobble up, and that always looks good in our portfolio."

I remembered how surprised I was when reading an article that said that Wargaming Labs bought and made the remake of Masters of Orion just because they felt it's a legacy that shouldn't be forgotten, because it would never profit like World of Tanks.

Yeah, I'm sure the makers of PUBG and the publishers that laid off a bunch of The Callisto Protocol devs after it didn't sell well only bought Tango for the good vibes and don't care about the sustainability of the studio at all.
