Like in Denmark they split people between "Western" and "non-Western" immigrants. You can imagine which category has more privileges.
Not having data means that policy making often relies on prejudice instead of facts.
But having data can be worse, as it often seems used to "validate" prejudice. Or worse as in your historical reference.

For the confused people: yes, your income gets taxed if you are part of a church and said church gets money from the German state. Religious classes are also still mandatory in German schools. 🙃
i complain a lot about america's many faults but one awesome part we do have is no god damn religion in government. even if it tries to sneak in, it's worth keeping out
