If there were no NDAs all around I could tell you about twenty projects in the last five years alone that followed these exact steps except for "and it all came together beautifully". If anything can be learned here, it's not that they found a writer on a writing site and a musician on a music site.

Miracle as it's a miracle we got so far into the project it got released as a game without having X or Y causing a premature end of the project
Yet mistakes and failures are part of the creative process and one must accept it when making games for a living.
Not to mention eliminating the stress induced by 24-7 C-Suite disruptions. Allowing for a more creative, collaborative environment.

Then there's a lot of musicians who were recorded, a choir, mocap actors, voice cast, translators, and all the keplar team for the publishing side (these guys alone are 3 times the core team)... It grows fast
