I wasn’t going to touch this. The meaning of some labels have changed over time. For example, conservatives used to believe that people ought to do whatever they thought was best and really whatever they wanted to do within the law. Not true anymore. But I still believe this. 🧵/1
So, if you or anyone wants to homeschool that’s up to you. But I would add a word of caution. Homeschooled children are at a disadvantage in many ways. For example, you can’t keep them at home forever and homeschooled kids haven’t had the opportunity to 🧵/2
develop social skills they would have if they went to school outside the home. Also, the level of education in terms of depth is going to be lacking in some area(s). No one knows everything. Those topics parents know less about will be lacking in 🧵/3

You can teach a home school curriculum and supplement it with hands on activities and real world scenarios to enhance what the printed materials carry. So many advantages to homeschool!
Absolutely fight! We need public schools! We also need an overhaul on what’s being taught and a crackdown on what the children are going through at school (violence). You think it’s bad now? What do you think it’s going to look like if Dept of Ed closes? Bad x100 if public schools exist at all
