- Help ‘em up onto the table or down onto the pad
- Undo their clothes/onesie
- Give ‘em a plushie or toy to keep ‘em distracted
- Be gentle, reassuring and attentive to them, little bit of teasing too
- Lots, LOTS of soft touch and contact throughout
- Be careful but thorough with wiping (1/2)
- Be GENEROUS with powder and lotion
- Take your time with the tapes, want a nice snug and comfy fit
- Run fingers around leakguards, flips them out and checks leg fit
- TUMMY RASPBERRIES AND TICKLES!!!
- Redo clothes/onesies
- Sit/stand ‘em up
- Post-change hugs! (2/2)
At least these are some of the things I’d probably think about that may or may not make a difference in a kiddo’s change (and may or may not make them a blubbery blushy mess afterwards) 😁
A big plush to cuddle, plop in the paci, countdown as the tapes get undone, make silly little noises and make the change a fun little musical, kickies of the toesies, a raspberry on the tum, and a biiiig hug
