It may be a hostile takeover, but unless you have enough people to physically remove them, shutting down the government will do nothing. Dems need a better plan than that, and I want to hear an answer to the question "and then what?".

Why would they need to come to the table? Donald seems perfectly comfortable acting on his own. Where is the actual leverage? I'm serious here, I've seen court orders but money still not flowing and people still fired.
A shut down will get the attention of the checked out third of the electorate, including those who voted for “change” mindlessly. Perhaps it will even rattle some Rs in Congress to find out that simply ignoring the other side (and the constitution) will not fly. This CR does none of that.
What can they do anyhow? They are likely still checked out, and the next election is a ways off. It's possible that a shut down would do some good, but it's also quite possible that it will do a lot more harm than good.
Well it might and then again it might not, and it's irrelevant until 2 years from now. What about until then? What besides (maybe) obtaining votes of people who couldn't be bothered last time does this do? And that must be weighed against what does it undo?
I do not interpret it as acquiescence, necessarily. If the Dems also burn the country, there will be nothing left. I don't have answers, but I am very suspicious of those who think they do, to the exclusion of other strategies.
We had one chance. Now we are down to zero. We handed the bully our lunch money (the tax money we hoped to spend responsibly) hoping he would be reasonable and not use all of it for himself and his friends.
