Matt Cardona’s impact on wrestling, especially through social media, is underrated. While many wrestlers struggled post-WWE releases, he found success on the indies, doing things his way.

Matt is the Soulja-Boy of wrestling, he was barely on TV but was able to use social media to connect with the fans and create organic interest in himself, even if he was a little too ahead of his time. Using the internet to promote yourself is now standard practice, and Matt is to thank for that.
Yet, Cardona’s still open about wanting to return to WWE to finish his career. It’s refreshing that he shows success isn’t about burning bridges, but about embracing your own journey, wherever it leads.
I'd say that even underplays it! When he was doing short form skit compilations on YouTube in 2010, Vince (via Michael Cole on commentary) was in his "the Internet and Twitter are for nerds!!" phase. He got over, they chewed and spit him out, and then WWE went hard on sm from Tout to Twitter.
