I don’t know why more people aren’t worried about the new wave of AI videos. It’s already hard to believe anything we see, any more advanced than this and people can literally make any ‘news’ they want at anyone’s expense. That worries me. A lot. - ThreadSky

I was worried a while back about AI, but I was a 'doom peddler' and a 'boomer'.

I guess it's time to sit with popcorn and watch the 'fun'.

AI has me worried for lots of reasons. The realization of how much water is needed to cool the massive centers that run the AI, especially as they need clean water. I may use AI for meeting minutes, but I'd be glad to go back to the "old way" if it meant there is drinking water for future gens.

Honestly, only recently occurred to me when I heard the engineers in my office discussing water solutions for the data centres. I had no idea.

Oh but that isn't a concern if they put them in underprivileged communities. Cause who cares about them! Same as all those new strip mines! Only First Nations, rural communities, and so on will suffer from the runoff and pollution. They're not important at all. 🙄
