I have a warlock right now who has no idea what he formed a pact with, and if asked to do things against his moral code will likely refuse and suffer the consequences. Can be fun that way too.

I had Dmed a game where a warlock was indebted to a Marid( basically a water Genie) and the warlock had to send people to his patron or he would be taken. Or negotiating more time which would equate to a worse deal for himself in the long run. I love having warlock PCs in my games.
