Lost track of time and ended up playing BG3 with the Adjustable Party Mod all night. Tactician Advanced works wonderfully to balance the game out, and so far, not a single issue. Party members all randomly join in, the right ones do so for important moments. Just fantastic.

Maybe if there was a mod that flagged their presence but not for combat. Like you still get the banter as you explore and they would appear in interactions with other npcs but the second combat starts they vanish. Though setting up battle would still be a pain.

When you were in-game, you ENABLED the Mod via it's Toggle the same way you enabled all your Party adjusting spells right...?

Cause you have the toggle it on & adjust it from there.

I’ve found that I can bump the limit to 5 and things still work out, but any more than that and the action and resource economy just completely breaks.

A while ago I tried a necromancy mod that allowed risen zombies to infect and raise additional zombies from everyone they killed and it turns out having to wait through 15 ai controlled zombies to burn through their turns made the game pretty slow

A version of that is possible in vanilla, it's just a dice roll if the humanoid killed by a minion turns and I think it's a semi low chance because I haven't seen it get too crazy

There's a mod called Sit This One Out which allows you to either designate 4 (or whatever number you decide) characters who'll be used in combat or it'll just randomly pick for you

I imagine. Even running with a Druid, Ranger and a Warlock and having 8-10 summons out at once and let you steam roll a lot of encounters, and most summons have dog shit damage (not Dryad though and her bonk stick of death). Just giving the enemy another target breaks a lot of encounters.

I still think it would be good for playing with friends, it sucks not being able to have the companions out with you, should at least each get to pick one, I feel like that's how multiplayer should have worked and adjusted based on how many players. This mod still seems like a nice fix for that.

I figured the moment it was obvious it was a mistake would be when you start a fight with three characters, wonder where the rest of your party is, and they're all stuck on the other side of a gap that you jumped over 10 minutes ago and you have to manually jump them all over.

I found even 6 would cause Lae'zel and Astarion and Karlach to constantly get stuck in choke points
