I'm so malding right now one of the people in my dnd group lied about their character class and instead rolled an identical class/subclass/feat/skills to my character. If I had known I would have played something different but they literally said they were playing something else.

I like my groups diverse
* Rebuild mechanically but keep the character the same, don't let That Guy ruin your fun
* Outshine the absolute shit out of them, the fun is now fucking with That Guy
And I'm sweating because I did not earn this good karma so a shoe's going to drop at some point
You might as well become their caddy
Did they say why they did this? Like, are they secretly a doppelgänger of your character or a reflection of them or something?
Condolences, etc-
*technically closer to psuedo-class features but it’s easier to say feats

Hopefully you guys were able to work it out.
This seems like failure on your DM's part. They should have checked if you were okay with it.
There's very few reasons to hide a class from other players, even if its meant to be hidden in-game
Hidden backstories are fun and playing one class as if they were another is fun, too, but the class thing should always be in the open.
Nobody likes "I made your character but better"
Hope you can still enjoy the game after being victim to someones "actually I'm the MC" moment
The big issue is your role in combat as the optimal warlock is straight up blasting and teleporting.
...I wonder if Paige knew...
...
I wonder if it was *her* idea...
Other guy: “But better.”
