SMH I can't believe you would skip to Path of Fire to get mounts I totally didn't do the same when I also picked the game back up after 10 years a few months ago.

What probably happened is that when I went on my level 80 main from way back when, I was inundated with a bunch of messages about what had changed, and it completely drowned out any notification about getting a mount.

Now. Before, you had to start PoF to unlock it.

You're both right. You get a trial raptor at level 10, and if you own the Path Of Fire expansion I believe you get to keep the raptor. Originally you had to get to PoF in order to get a raptor, but they eased up on that.

PoF is required if you want mounts outside of raptor, springer, and skyscale (right now). Having certain xpacks allows you to get these mounts without touching PoF.

they changed that a good while after pof first came out, so a lot of people who’ve been playing since before that change have no idea. i still see lots of people try and suggest that new players should play the first pof chapter to get the raptor quickly even though there’s no reason to lol
