South Africa's law abiding citizens must do a gun competency test. Gun has to be licensed. The house must be kept in a gun safe.
If ANY unauthorised person (a child, spouse, etc.) uses that gun, immediate arrest for the owner.
Unfortunately, still many illegal guns amongst the gangs.

The solution is simple.

Schools need CEOS.

Think about it, CEO gets shot, 1 week later more security and hotlines are in place.

Thousands of kids get shot, thoughts and prayers.

Not only Japan, but every developed nation other than US has strict and enforced firearm ownership, possession and use control.
