I understand Amazon sucks but shaming people who still have a kindle/publish/sell books via Amazon/kindle unlimited is just making you seem like a jerk and not helpful. I mean everyone doesn’t have $100s of dollars to rebuy their ebooks on another platform AND buy another $150+ ereader. Ugh 📚💙

So what I mean is: please be more sensitive in what you write.
Such a silly statement
Yet at some point we need to stop the monopolies!
Or their businesses will be ruined anyway
Like cbs or abc just paying trump off thinking they will save themselves
It’s insane
What are my options?
I’ve turned off its WiFi to prevent syncing to non-existant account, and happy to connect to my PC or Mac to transfer books.
I installed Calibre and my Kindle and its downloaded books show up in that, and I successfully converted and transferred its user guide to my Kindle.
I’m not going to engage in piracy - as a creative person, I believe authors should be paid for their work.
I’ll use it for DRM-free works such as those in the public domain and where authors provide such versions.
Don’t shame people/authors who show alternatives to amazon. They don’t do that to “take away“ e.g. KU from people who can’t afford anything else.
They actually BUILD alternatives - because amazon can just take away all the books that are left/queer/BIPOC/disabled/somehow
Because ebooks over amazon are not bought to keep, just rented. (-> thinking about copies is a good idea by the way.)
So my opinion is: I‘d like to see no shame on the people who boycott Amazon - they try to build a future especially for marginalized people. (Still: shaming
