It’s happening everywhere.
I work in IT and the company is constantly trying to get us to take up the latest AI tools to ‘help’ ‘streamline’ my work.
This seems to be one of those sudden universal truths that come into being. All I can see at the moment is my work being captured to train AI

Cryptocurrency is still very much going and making tech money, it won’t alter the world but it will cost us the world.

I also think that the products ‘not working’ is part of the design. It learns for them to ‘improve’ it and roll out new changes.

Crypto is still around, but it's a niche for a certain kind of person. It was supposed to revolutionise finance and it absolutely did not do that. It was only two years ago that Sunak was claiming crypto would "attract investment and jobs and widen consumer choice".

Looked through the so-called "action plan" and, sure enough, there's practically no detail on how AI will actually help do things. Just the assumption that, if "unleashed", it will magically do them. Problem solved.

The only bit where it looks like it might be offering evidence is a joke. These items look like they're sourced and referenced, but when you look at the footnotes it just says the data comes from "business leader interviews". In other words, "rich people told us this is true and we believe them".
