Mine isn't really a shelter dog but still an abandoned one and the love that she brings me could've never been bigger. It's like they feel when someone is there to stay...forever!

Hi 👋🏼 here is our brand new rescued Mexican street dog Maya 💕💕 She was rescued under an abandoned car in Guadalajara Mexico 🇲🇽 earlier this year during Rainy Season. She made her way to Chicago in September 2024 and we adopted her a month later. #blueskydogs #rescuedogs #bluedogs
Maya is such a pretty puppy and I’m glad you adopted her! I adopted my first puppy from an El Paso shelter and she was the kindest, sweetest dog. I’ll never know if she was from Mexico or not, but I do know that every puppy on the street deserves a warm, safe home wherever they come from.
A month after we got Georgia from the shelter, we saw she had a cleft palate so it was off for dental surgery and in the reconstruction some teeth had to go. But yeah, that tongue and perpetual Elvis sneer. lol 😀
You did a wonderful thing adopting her after she had so many previous owners! Once they are family, they are family! (But please, dogs, try to keep most of your teeth, okay?)
I have a rescue named Georgia. I live in MA and adopted her here but she was brought from a kill shelter in Georgia. I figured the name would be familiar to her. She’s turning 12 in December.
I’m glad Georgia found her forever home and that she is still active at her age! Do you call your Georgia “The Peach” as well, cause we do a lot of that over here!
Georgia is beautiful! Bless you for saving her and giving this sweet girl her furever home. My son and his girlfriend adopted Juna from our local Humane Society shelter. While she has a quirk here or there, she has come out of her shell and living her best doggo life. #adoptdontshop
We had a wonderful shepherd/husky mix named Georgia years ago. She was wonderful on a leash and we spent many happy hours walking around our little town in SW Michigan.
According to a dog DNA kit, she is a majority poodle (!!!), but family history of dachshund, chihuahua, rat terrier and others washes the poodle look out.
