Breaking news: Stubbornly high inflation eased more than expected in the first full month of the Trump administration, as a new round of 25 percent tariffs on steel and aluminum imports takes effect on Wednesday.

Pretty soon we will have to consider eggs a delicacy only available to the wealthiest Americans. I never thought I’d see an economy where eggs became unaffordable. I guess I’ve seen it all now. We should egg the White House if it’s not too expensive.
Yes it is. First off, inflation is not great at all in a system where new currency is injected in a biased way. It's a purchasing power transfer from the masses to the financial system. Even for those who accept it however, the Fed still has a 2% target so 3% is indeed running hot.
Okay it's HIGH. It's a whole percentage point above the target, and it has been well above the target for a while, and again the target should be 0% not 2%.
What does this even mean? Jeff Bezos - owner of the Washington Post and a supporter of Trump - is telling lies by saying that high inflation eased. How stupid do these people really think we are?
You think raising prices by 10k or more on cars with metals tariffs might have an impact on inflation, Washington Post?? Are you sure you're allowed to post anything at all having to do with Trump destroying our economy? I thought Bezos was pretty strict on outlawing truth telling.🙄
Trump’s tariffs are a self-inflicted economic wound. His version of a tax hike on Americans, wrapped in a “tough on trade” bow. Because nothing says “economic strategy” like pissing off allies and boosting inflation. Spoiler alert - we're all footing the bill.

Not Trump
Stop calling yourself a newspaper
If 3% is high, what is 5%? 9%?
As for “inflation being not great at all,” because a falling price level is so damaging, targeting a low inflation level is logical.
What is your opinion of owner’s equivalent rent, which makes up 26% of the basket of goods?
No it's not. Inflation is damaging. It destroys the ability for people to purchase.
Does it even say “Democracy dies in darkness” on their site anymore?
Something stupid like that.
