Can’t stop thinking about that one person who told me in my comments section that I should stop talking about the JP version of Danganronpa because, quote, “everyone played the dub, not the sub”.

My first exposure to Danganronpa was playing a fan translation of the psp version that only had JP voices and I've been attached to the JP voice cast ever since then
Alot of people give me shit for doing that and insist I use the English dub for v3 when I eventually play it
Fuck ‘em! The V3 dub cast are still very talented mind you, but I’ve always played the series in JP and will continue to. The V3 original cast is kind of stacked too so, like, c’mon. I’m not NOT going to listen to Megumi Hayashibara.
The way you talk about the Japanese versions of those games was one of the reasons why I liked those videos a ton, same with the ace attorney ones. Like, people are really boring sometimes when it comes to learning cool trivia and facts...
Argh... let people play the games however they wish. Folks should leave it at that (even though we know they won't shut up about it), but it's the player's choice.
Honestly, I personally want to replay all three games with the JP voices, if only because I like hearing both of the voice casts.
Yeah, y’know, the niche murder mystery visual novel from Japan? Everyone played that in English. That’s definitely true. It’s not like most of the games’ success comes from the country it was made for or anything.
also like there's a not-insignificant number of people in English-speaking countries whose primary exposure to the first and second games was from a more or less direct translation of the original Japanese script posted on a popular web forum but yeah everyone played the dub
Literally that was my exposure to it, lol. (And I’m glad for that frankly, no shade to the NISA voice cast, but those localizations’ scripts are not the best.)
It’s like American DBZ fans who insist everyone grew up with the old Funimation dub, like no I can pretty much guarantee you that “everyone” did not do that.
it , kinda comes with the territory doesn't it,, i swear when anything goes overseas ive seen no one else more weirdly gatekeepy or assume-y about it than eng audience
my first exposure to the series was the anime dub, which doesn't use a bunch of the terminology the games do (they still use Super High School Level, for instance)

Everyone does what I do!! That's why you, another part of 'everyone', is wrong for disagreeing with me! Somehow!
