Ahh, ok. That all makes sense. I was incredibly thorough getting my ARs timing and gas just right with the gas block, spring rates and buffer weights. To the point of driving myself crazy. But my face has been safe from the gas!
Got lucky when I built my last AR that I had a friend of a friend that was an armorer for Lone Star Armory that was willing to walk me through getting everything dialed in and which spring and buffer to order, so saved me a lot of trial and error.
As a brass scavenger for future reloading, it's really nice that if I stand still, my rifle leaves me a pile of brass in the exact same spot at 4'oclock.
Been a long while since I had to remember specs, but with a standard BCG, I'll bet it cycles fine. H2 is great for everything but rifle length gas tubes, and still even works most of the time there.
That was why it's so dialed in. I wanted it to run steel because it wouldn't as it came from Aero. Armorer guy helped me get that goal, but not overgas so hard with SS109 that it was wearing out my gun. It is slightly over with brass 5.56, but very mildly so.
